Elsie: week 24

Well, this week was tougher then expected. Moving out of one place and into a temporary home has been hard on the babe. She woke up in the middle of the night terrified the first night. She wouldn't ease up until I held her. Elsie slept with me all week (no judgmental comments please). We had a wonderful last week together, but it was just hard living out of suitcases. I hate that I have to start work full time next week, and we are moving into our house this weekend! It leaves very little time for me to just snuggle my baby for a whole day.

We closed on our house on Friday, and I immediately went and got paint and painted Elsie's room. I can't wait to share pictures! It is soo cute!! We moved in on Saturday and stayed the night on Sunday! Nana came to spend time with Elsie while Trammel and I got stuff done! What a great weekend! Elsie is going to love our house! Oh! And the Olympics started! My absolute favorite sporting event! I love every second of it, and of course I had to get Elsie all dressed up for her first Olympics!

Elsie: week 23

Week 23 is bringing big changes for our little E. We are packing our entire house up and moving into the in laws for a week. This week we packed, and packed, and packed! Everything had to go! We haven't closed on our house yet, so we had to move all of our stuff into the basement of Trammel's parents. We will move it again on the 4th! Crazy!

We tried sweet potatoes and bananas this week! She liked them both, but bananas were her favorite. The more she eats sweet potatoes the less she likes them! Hopefully, I will find a vegetable this girl likes sometime soon! Next are apples and butternut squash.

I had to work 2 days this week. It was just a taste of what is about to happen! I am so dreading it, but I know Elsie will be in good hands. I believe Elsie is officially teething. She is having a hard time sleeping, and swims in her drool most days. Hopefully, one of those bad boys will pop through soon! Munchkin is weighing in at 15 pounds!

Elsie: week 22

Last week, Elsie and I went to the beach for a girls trip. This week, Elsie and I traveled (by car) to the beach with the fam. We flew home from Charleston on Friday at 2:30. I cleaned our house (they were showing it while we were gone), then we hopped in the car and drove 8 hours to the Gulf. My oh my, was my baby exhausted! We left Nashville at 6:30. She slept the whole way. We pulled into the townhouse at 2:30 am. I fed Elsie (a treat, since she doesn't eat in the middle of the night anymore), while Trammel put up her pack and play and then we all went to sleep. I can't believe she was so wonderful!

We ha a great time on vacation. We ate a lot of seafood and hung out at Nana's new place. Elsie was pretty exhausted since she had been away from home for a couple of weeks. She didn't last more than a couple hours before she needed a nap. We usually just walked back to the house and rested peacefully in our bed. However, one day Trammel decided he would keep her at the beach with him while I went back and made us lunch. I got back to the house, and not 15 minutes later Trammel was walking in with Elsie passed out in the stroller. He said he was 'voted' off the beach. Apparently, when I left, Elsie was not a happy camper. He said she screamed like he had never heard her scream. He said the people around him offered to watch our things while he took the baby back to mom. Haha! I died laughing! Sometimes a girl just needs her momma!

Elsie got to try avocado for the first time at the beach. She wasn't a fan! End of story. She does, however, still love her oatmeal!!

Elsie also turned 5 months this week! She is still sitting up like a rock star. She is growing up so fast! I love her more than words!

Elsie: week 21

We had a busy week! This week Elsie flew on a plane, went to the beach, and sat up... ALL FIRSTS for my sweet girl!

My friend, Haley, invited us to her families beach house when Elsie was born. We planned a mommas/babies trip. There were 4 mommas and five babies. Haley's mom, sister, and brother also came. It was such a wonderful week on the beach. We mostly just hung out at the house with the babes. Not a whole lot of beach time, who would have thought getting five babies on the same schedule would have been so hard! Haha!

Elsie did amazing on the plane! Not a peep made the whole time. She ate, and then fell asleep on both flights. What an angel! While we were at the beach, Elsie decided that she could sit up all by herself and that she didn't need her mommas help any more! Tear! Makes me sad, but I was so excited for my big girl. Next week is week 2 at the beach!

Elsie: week 20

This week started off with a bang! Little miss went to the Doctor for her checkup and she had a negative diaper!!! Yay! Thank goodness this diet is finally paying off. It was so great to see that her little belly is healing. She is weighing in at a healthy 13 lbs and 13 oz. She will not go back to the doctor until her 6 month checkup. Let's hope we can keep these diapers clean until then.

I decided to start giving Elsie food last week. I made her a batch of peas and hoped for the best. The first night she was not real sure about the taste, but she kept eating them. The second day was not so great. She remembered what those green things were and she was not going to let me fool her this time. We "tried" peas for 4 nights with not a whole lot of success. Next is avocado and sweet potatoes. Fingers crossed she will like one of them.

Elsie enjoyed her first 4th of July this week! We spent the day in Cottonwood with friends and family. We swam, cooked out, and enjoyed fireworks. Elsie was such a trooper. I thought she would be scared of the fireworks, but she didn't flinch. She just stared in awe! I am going to have to get use to that face, because there are still so many first yet to come.

On another note....WE BOUGHT A HOUSE!!! Yay! We are finally moving out of this apartment and into a forever home for Elsie! It is an older (fixer upper) home, and we can't wait!
